After testing the RadRover Electric Fat Bike for miles, it has proved its versatility. It is an all-terrain bike.

The key structure of the RadRover is its hydroformed 6061 aluminium frame that is shaped to fit perfectly for a wide range of riders and to provide the fat tyres with considerable balance.

There is 26 x 4 inches Kenda Juggernaut Fat tyres fit well within the frame of the Bike for the proper clearing of mud or snow.

The downtube of the frame has a great flat surface for integration of the battery on the downtube of the frame. This low and centred battery location is well placed for overall bike handling and experience.

It is fitted with a 48V 14Ah (672Wh) lithium battery pack that makes use of the Samsung 35E cells. This helps to power the motor and front headlight. The solid battery pack has been rated to be around 800 charge cycles.

Rad Power Bikes placed the 7.6-pound battery pack in a convenient location on the downtube for proper weight. That helps with the overall handling of the bike.

The centre mounted LCD display provides information:

  • Battery level

  • Odometer & trip distance

  • Current speed, average speed, max speed

  • Pedal assist level. There are 5 levels of pedal assist. The RadRover makes use of a cadence sensor for the pedal assist system.

  • Watts that the motor is providing
